Our Business

I established Alma Mater College Admission Consultants in 2004 to guide students and their families through the college admissions process. Since then I have helped hundreds of students successfully gain admission to a college of their choice.

I have BA from Boston University and a post-baccalaureate Certificate in College Admissions and Career Planning from UC Berkeley. I also have a post-bacculaurate Certificate in International Education from NAFSA Association for International Education and the US Department of State. 

While there is no governmental oversight of College Counseling, there is professional oversight through the professional organizations.  These organizations have rigorous standards for admissions and membership is very selective.  I am proud to be a member of the Higher Education Consultants Association, Independent Educational Consultants Association (Professional level member), National  Association for College Admission Counseling, Western Association for College Admission Counseling, International Association for College Admission Counseling, Pacific Northwest Association for College Admission Counseling, and NAFSA Association for International Education.  As a member of these organizations I strictly follow the Statement of Principles of Good Practice required to remain a member in good standing.

To ensure that I am always up to date on the latest developments in the field of Higher Education I attend the annual conferences sponsored by these organizations, plus conferences sponsored by the University of California and the California State University systems.  Additionally, I tour a minimum of 20 college campuses per year and have personally toured over 300 college campuses.
